Natural Attractions
This eco-friendly community has worked very hard at maintaining the natural state of their its magnificent parks, trails and wetlands. Come and behold West Perth’s 10 kilometres of trail systems and 65 acres worth of wetlands featuring 3 rehabilitated ponds (Please visit www.naturetrail.westperth.com for more information).
Come and explore our nature trails and enjoy activities for all ages and fitness levels - cycling, walking, jogging, dog walking, geocaching, canoeing/kayaking on the millpond, bird watching and photography. Portions of the trail are handicapped accessible. The hiking trail includes wetlands, uplands and aquatic areas. Each component of the trail is unique in its own right. The natural processes that occur in these areas provide the essential components that wildlife needs to survive.
Other hidden West Perth treasures include Sawyers Preservation Woodlot and the Fullarton Conservation Area. In the fall, take a spectacular drive along the Thames River near Fullarton and delight in nature’s brilliant display of colour. An educational brochure provides a self-guided tour that highlights the 34 species of trees found along the trail. For more information please visit www.sawyerwoodlot.org .
